Register of the Great Seal
RMS ii, no.189, p.43, 19 April 1431, confirms earlier grants of Wedderburn lands; no.349, 16 May 1450, also concerns lands. These entries do not explicitly establish the claimed barony.
Retours and Lyon records
NRS GD137/144, 21 January 1762, recites a 12 March 1708 erection of Wedderburn from Easter Powrie and Ogilvie. This is the Forfar estate, not assigned to the Berwick Castle claim.
