RMS viii, no. 548, p. 187 (19 December 1623): the Crown charter that united these lands into the barony of Leslie-Forbes describes them as lying “infra baroniam de Leslie … vic. de Abirdene”, and as having belonged to George Leslie, formerly of that Ilk, “tanquam pars baronie de Leslie”.
